Averill Park grad Rudy Winkler places first in hammer throw at NYC Grand Prix

Averill Park graduate and two-time Olympian Rudy Winkler came in first place in the hammer throw at the NYC Grand Prix on Saturday with a throw of 78.70 meters. Winkler, who is the current American record holder in the hammer, won the last two Olympic trials and competed in both the Rio and Tokyo games. He is finishing up the World Athletics Continental Tour and has the third highest score in the current world rankings. Hear from Rudy here.
