Gun reform initiative announced by NY department of corrections

New York’s department of corrections is announcing a new initiative to cut down on gun violence among those on parole supervision.

The agency’s implementing the save program, which stands for “supervision against violent engagement.”

The program will use enhanced supervision, intelligence and data gathering to prevent gun violence

and violent crime among high-risk releases who return to Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo.
