Fire department warns of local text scam

Authorities are sending out a couple of warnings to watch out for scams in our area.

Troy firefighters warn if you get a text offering a $10 Troy firefighters’ shirt – they say, don’t respond.

The department says firefighters won’t try to sell products or offer discounts, like this.

So, please be advised this is a scam.
