Cyanotoxins have been discovered in the Washington Park lake, Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan said.
They are harmful substances produced by certain types of algae. In this case, they’re being caused by harmful blue-green algae blooms.
The state warns do not swim, fish, boat, or wade in areas with these blooms.
They also advise you to rinse with clean water if you, your family, or your pets come into contact with the water.
