BBQ battle brings people to Albany to help local food pantry

A competition this weekend provided some savory financial sweetness to a local food pantry.

Members of the Albany County Legislature presented the Shalom Food Pantry with a $10,000 check at the annual Battle of the BBQs, at the Albany Jewish Community Center.

Hundreds of community members attended, as they also paid to eat their way through the event.

Winning team “Shteeble Chase” was awarded the title of “Ultimate Kosher Barbeque Champion.”
