Police: Man built person of color out of construction materials; hung it with a noose

ROTTERDAM – State police say a man used construction materials to build a figure that looked like a person of color, then hung it with a noose made of twine.

Police say it happened at a Rotterdam construction site, and was immediately reported.

Thomas McDermott, 53, of Wilton was arrested after a two-month investigation.

He is charged with aggravated harassment, and due in Rotterdam Town Court on June 14.
