Honduran national arraigned in fatal Troy stabbing

TROY – A Honduran national accused of stabbing a Troy resident to death was arraigned on a murder charge Tuesday in Rensselaer County Court.

Carlos Corrales-Ramirez, 20, allegedly killed 28-year-old Jairo Jesus Sanchez on Sept. 2 in the area of River Street and Doux Street.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Matt Hauf is prosecuting the case.

Corrales-Ramirez, who is listed as homeless, is also wanted in a stabbing in Maryland. He was picked up in Champlain, N.Y. by U.S. Border Patrol in March and then turned over New York State Police. He was then being held in Clinton County Jail for 90 days pending extradition. However, he was not picked up by Maryland authorities and released.
