Albany German Shepherd suspected in four separate attacks

The victim of a vicious dog attack in Albany spoke out Tuesday evening about the terrifying ordeal she believes could very easily have ended her life. She also learned she was not the first victim of the dog in question.

The woman – who didn’t want to be identified – said the terrifying moment occurred on Fairlawn Avenue in the middle of the afternoon on August 25, when both her and her dogs were attacked. One suffered a broken jawbone. She sustained bite wounds, puncture wounds, scrapes and bruises all over her body.

A meeting of the Melrose Neighborhood Association was held at All Saints Catholic Academy on Tuesday evening, where angry residents discussed the attacks, and the perception nothing is being done about it.

After the attack, the German shepherd was removed from its home. It was returned two weeks later. It turns out only one person went to the trouble of filing an official complaint.

Neighbors who attended Tuesday’s meeting expressed fear they or their children could be next to be attacked. Some said they’d be looking for a new place to live
