Missing Pittstown person found
Multiple agencies rescued a Pittstown person that had gotten lost and reported missing last week.
The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 28 received a report of a missing person in the town of Pittstown. Deputies interviewed family members of the missing person and determined that the person’s vehicle was not at the residence. The vehicle was located the following day in a rural area in the town of Pittstown.
The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office initiated a search of the immediate area. Numerous agencies assisted including the Troy Police Department, New York State Forest Rangers, Rensselaer County Search and Rescue, Rensselaer County Bureau of Public Safety, Pittstown Ambulance and the Hoosick Rescue Squad and fire departments from West Hoosick, Pittstown, Buskirk and Hoosick fire departments.
On Sept. 30 at about 3 p.m., the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Forest Rangers located the individual. Immediate medical attention was provided at the rescue site by the deputies and rangers, and then by Pittstown Ambulance at the staging area.
The individual was transported to the hospital for further care by Hoosick Rescue Squad.
