Corinth woman admits to drugged driving, causing crash that killed Niskayuna resident

A Corinth woman has admitted to driving under the influence of drugs and causing a crash that killed a Niskayuna woman in July 2022.

Maureen Morrow, 43, pleaded guilty in Schenectady County Court on Friday to aggravated vehicular homicide. As part of the plea agreement, Morrow agreed to receive a sentence of 8 ½ to 17 years when sentenced on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m.

Morrow was arrested after a crash on Route 7 on July 17, 2022. Police said that she was traveling east toward Colonie when crossed over the turning lane and both opposite lanes of travel before crashing into a vehicle that was driven by Anne Burchhardt.

Burchhardt died from her injuries. Morrow’s vehicle jumped over the curb and then struck a telephone pole before catching fire. Lab reports found that Morrow had a variety of substances in her blood including amphetamine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and methadone, according to a news release from the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office.

She also had a previous conviction in Saratoga County Court in 2018 for driving drunk and a felony weapons possession charge from 2012 in Warren County.
