Cops: Two men had stolen guns at Colonie motel

Two people are facing charges for allegedly possessing multiple stolen firearms.

State Police and the Colonie Police Department were attempting to locate 45-year-old Kareem A. Whitted, of Poughkeepsie, on an active warrant. Officers found Whitted and 51-year-old Jeffrey J. Thomas at a motel in Colonie. Police seized multiple stolen firearms, according to a news release.

Whitted also allegedly provided police with false identifying information. He also had an outstanding warrant on a related matter.

Both were charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a firearm. Whitted is also facing a charge of false personation. They were arraigned at Colonie Town Court and sent without bail to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
