Two Schenectady men accused of having drugs, stolen guns

Two Schenectady residents are facing drug and weapons charges following an investigation.

John O. Alston, 49, and 45-year-old Chester C. Jones were arrested after State Police said they found multiple drugs, stolen property and two illegally possessed handguns in a residence on Eleanor Street.

Police had obtained a warrant to search the property after a vehicle related to the investigation at that residence.

The East Greenbush Police Department and Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Alston was charged with two counts each of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of stolen property as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Jones was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon.

Both were sent without bail to the Schenectady County Jail.
