Horicon man faces DWI, drug charges after arrest at Queensbury Northway rest area

A Horicon man is facing multiple charges for allegedly driving while intoxicated and having drugs in his vehicle.

State Police were called to the Northway rest area in Queensbury for a report of a suspicious person, later identified as 40-year-old Vincent A. Varley II, attempting to access another person’s vehicle.

Varley was uncooperative with the investigation and appeared intoxication, police said. The investigation determined that Varley had driven his vehicle to the location. A search of his vehicle found felony-weight narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Varley was charged with DWI, three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally using drug paraphernalia, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and other vehicle and traffic law violations.

He was arraigned in Warren County Centralized Arraignment Court and sent to the Warren County Correctional Facility without bail.
