State agencies are warning drivers to keep an eye out for deer, and moose.

Deer and moose are most active and more likely to walk into the road this time of year, according to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. They search for mates during the months of October, November and December.

More than 41% of crashes involving deer happen during this three-month span, according to University at Albany research.

The most important times to stay vigilant are dawn and dusk.
