More than a thousand people came together on Saturday to take part in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Siena College.

The goal was to raise $350,000 to help find a cure for the disease. Before the event, officials told NewsChannel 13 that they have already raised $310,000. People still have time to donate.

“We don’t close out the walk year until Dec. 31, so there’s still time to make a donation,” said Beth-Smith-Boivin, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern New York. “If you saw somebody here you know, or anybody that you don’t know, you can just make a general donation to Walk to End Alzheimer’s. We would appreciate it so much.”
