Low staffing forces childcare closure at Northern Berkshire YMCA
The Northern Berkshire YMCA will temporarily stop offering child care, NewsChannel 13's media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported.
The Northern Berkshire YMCA will temporarily stop offering some childcare. They blame inadequate staffing to comply with state regulations, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported.
The CEO of the Northern Berkshire YMCA said in an email they are not within state licensing ratios to care for infants, toddlers and preschool children.
The YMCA is now working to recruit and train new staff, but no reopening date has been set, they said.
The halt does not affect school-age, and before and after school programs.
Work is now underway to find alternative childcare for affected families.
