Significant injury from boating accident in Coeymans

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office reported a 22-year-old male suffered a significant leg injury from a boating accident at the Port of Coeymans on Saturday.

Deputies responded to an EMS call at 3:30 p.m. to the Port of Coeymans for assistance with the injury.

The man’s leg was crushed in between a boat and a barge upon arrival, said Albany County Sheriff’s. He was unable to move and was losing consciousness.

Coeymans police, deputies, and EMS personnel were eventually able to free the injured male. He was stabilized and transported to the Albany Medical Center for additional treatment for his critical, but non-life-threatening injury.
