The first phase of the Cohoes City Hall roof restoration is almost complete.
The project replaced about 9,300 square feet of missing and damaged slate and roof decking. All that’s left is to finish cleanup.
Workers also restored all the decorative copper features on the roof.
They will be moving to phase two soon, where a smaller portion of the roof will be replaced.
The project has been supported by three grants from the state. Workers hope to finish the work by 2024, which is the 150th anniversary of the building opening.
