Schoharie school district closed due to water main break
The Schoharie Central School District is closed today because of a water main break.
Schoharie village staff flushed hydrants throughout the village overnight. During the process, there was a significant drop in water pressure, according to a statement on the district’s website. Village workers flushed the hydrants on district property prior to noticing the drop in water pressure.
A break occurred along the sidewalk in front of the elementary school. Village officials contacted the school district at around 3:30 a.m.
The school district’s maintenance staff will repair the break today and clean up the mess.
There is no significant damage. The district expects that classes will resume on Thursday.
