The annual Weenie Open in Queensbury on Saturday invited golfers to dress up in costumes and have fun while they played to raise money for charity. There were Golden Girls, Flamingoes, Pooh and friends, Mayhem and Mrs. Mayhem, the Village People, even a lion and a lion tamer.
The costumed golfers raised $2,300 dollars for Kelly’s Angels, the area charity that brings smiles to faces of children who’ve lost a parent to cancer.
It was started by NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland in honor of his wife, Kelly, who died of cancer in 2007.
