Police: Bennington man stole medication in jail

A Bennington man already in jail is facing more charges for allegedly stealing medication.

Louis B. Tobin, 36, is accusing of taking prescription medicine from a medical room at the Southern State Correctional Center in Springfield back in September.

Tobin entered the medical room after discovering an unsecured door, police said. He was found in possession of numerous controlled substances including 68 pills and some miscellaneous pieces of pills, police said.

Tobin is currently being held without bail for an alleged burglary.
