Charity Saratoga Springs police, fire hockey game spreads holiday cheer
Firefighters, police answer call for toys.
Police and firefighters answered a different kind of call in Saratoga Springs on Monday. It wasn’t an emergency, but they were still helping people in need.
They hosted a charity hockey game. The price of admission was one new toy.
The emergency workers also collected toys at their respective stations.
The collection effort has been going on for several years.
The toys go to Franklin Community Center, which helped 550 kids last Christmas. The need has never been greater, they said.
