The North Colonie Central School District is celebrating its longest-serving staffing member.

Charlie Erno has been with the district for 57 years. He is a custodial worker at Shaker Middle School.

Erno was about to retire in 1998, but decided to go part-time instead.

He said – as of now – he has no plans to put down the broom for good.
