An Albany County man has pleaded guilty to distributing and possessing child pornography.

Joshua White, 46, admitted in federal court that he distributed sexually explicit images of a minor he knew over text messages, prosecutors said. When he met with police in July 2023, he had child pornography on his cellphone depicting other victims he obtained from the internet and social media messaging applications.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 11. White faces up to 40 years in prison on the charges. Also, he will be required to serve at least five years of post-release supervision and register as a sex offender.
