Troy mother’s roof caves in after heavy rainfall
Ameesha Moore lives on Highland Avenue in Troy.
Inside are giant holes in the ceiling, visible in the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. “When my ceiling collapsed it wet my whole bed and now we have to sleep on the couch,” she said.
Ameesha says the only things she’s been able to do is cover the floor with blankets and place large containers like buckets and bowls, pots and pans in various places in the home to catch the water. “A lot of my blankets were destroyed from having to pick up the puddles of water and a lot of my pots and pans were destroyed because it’s catching the water, the dirty water that’s coming from the ceiling,” she said.
The mother of four says the issues she’s experienced inside her home aren’t new, but bad weather makes it worse.
