The man shot by Albany police earlier this year when they say he charged at an officer with a knife has been indicted by a grand jury on felony charges.
Jordan Young was indicted in Albany County Court on one count of aggravated assault of a police officer and one count of menacing a police officer.
This comes after NewsChannel 13 learned the Albany County District Attorney’s Office and Young’s attorney are at an impasse on the case.
Body cam video shows Young running in the direction of an officer back in January, holding what appears to be a large knife. That’s when he was shot.
He was severely injured in the shooting, and is now recovering at home.
An arraignment date on the new charge has not been set.
