The area is known for flooding, according to Commissioner Matt McGeary. However, they have more than 14,500 case basins in the town and more than 300 miles of pipes.
A lot of work has been done through the years to improve storm order systems and that includes regular, routine maintenance and inspections. In addition to the case basins and pipes, the town also has a huge piece of equipment which allows them to remove any clogs or debris from the catch basins’ storm water systems.
