Hudson Police sergeant dies on duty after suffering medical emergency
The Hudson Police Department announced on Saturday that Senior Sgt. Christopher Filli has died after suffering a medical emergency while on duty on Friday.
Filli was a member of the Hudson Police Department for more than 22 years.
The department shares that Filli’s “commitment to duty and selfless service left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of working alongside him. He was an exceptional officer and will be greatly missed by all.”
Hudson Police thanks surrounding law enforcement and public safety agencies for their support, including New York State Police, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Columbia County 911, Hudson Fire Department, Greenport Fire and Police Departments and the Greenport Rescue Squad.
Hudson Police says the cause of Filli’s death is unknown and an investigation is ongoing.
The department has asked for the privacy of Filli’s family and department members to be respected during this time.
