Olympian to take plea deal in Berkshire County child sex abuse case
Former Olympian, track coach accused of sexual assault of minors
A former Olympian and youth track coach accused of sexually assaulting young boys is expected to take a plea deal.
Conrad Mainwaring, 72, is accused of assaulting minors at a Berkshire summer camp in the 1970s, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported.
Mainwaring is accused of molesting nine boys at Camp Greylock in Becket from 1975 to 1979. The victims were between the ages of 13 and 17 and were athletes he was entrusted to train, the paper reported.
Mainwaring was an Olympic runner for Antigua and Barbuda in 1976.
The case had been scheduled to go to trial in March. A hearing has been set for Feb. 8.
