Adirondack Theatre Festival to include play on ‘The Last American Newspaper’
The story of the local newspaper business, with all its triumph and tribulations, is coming to a stage near you.
The Adirondack Theatre Festival, a professional theater group based at the Charles R. Wood Theater in Glens Falls, unveiled its 30th anniversary season at a pep rally-style kickoff Saturday night.
ATF told the audience which comedies, dramas and musicals they’ll stage this summer. They announced production of a new play based on “The Last American Newspaper,” a book written by Ken Tingley, a former managing editor of The Post-Star. Tingley’s book addresses the challenges facing newspapers across America and recounts many of the biggest Glens Falls-area stories of the past 30 years as reported by The Post-Star writers.
“The Last American Newspaper” will be staged at The Wood Theater in the summer of 2025.
