CDC to drop five-day COVID isolation guidance
CDC plans to drop five-day COVID isolation guidelines.
Under the new guidance, Americans who test positive no longer routinely need to stay home from work and school for five days.
Instead, they may be able to return to work and school if they have been fever free for at least 24 hours without medication. It is the same standard applied to flu and RSV illnesses.
Health experts believe the impending change could be because most people have developed immunity to the virus because of prior infection or vaccination.
