Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s spokesperson confirms to NewsChannel 13 she is not running for reelection.

Sheehan is in her third term as Albany’s 75th mayor.

She’s worked to lead with a commitment to equity, and wanted to create a city of opportunity, she said.

Before being mayor, she served as Albany’s treasurer.

During her four-year term as the city’s treasurer, she strived to implement changes to improve the city’s fiscal policies and overhauled the city’s parking ticket system.

She is just Albany’s fourth mayor in 80 years.
