The South Colonie school district is the latest to approve a new mascot.

The district is replacing the name Raiders with Wolf Pack. The Board of Education on Tuesday voted to make the change.

This comes as school districts across the state have been phasing out Native-themed mascots and logos to comply with the State Education Department.

The name was chosen from more than 260 submissions with input from students, athletes, coaches and community members.
