Albany mayoral candidate Applyrs wants to focus on city’s potential
Chief City Auditor Dorcey Applyrs’ campaign for Albany mayor is about “activating” the city’s potential, she said.
The city has the ingredients upon which to build, she said.
Applyrs wants to focus on issues such as public safety, economic inclusion and building up neighborhoods.
She is one of three declared Democratic candidates for mayor. The others are political newcomer Dan Cerutti and Albany County Legislator Carolyn McLaughlin.
Applyrs was appointed to her current position in 2020. She was on the Albany Common Council before that, first being elected in 2014.
