A Bennington County woman has been arrested and accused of driving her father’s car without his permission.

Vermont State Police arrested Billie Jean Adams, 29, they said.

Adams stole the car from the father’s driveway in Pownal, the father told officers.

The car was found heading south on Route 7 in the town of Bennington, investigators said.

Adams was behind the wheel, said police.

She is now facing operation without owners’ consent charges.

She was processed and released on a citation.
