Amsterdam pair admits to selling drugs

Two Amsterdam man are facing 6 years in prison after being convicted on drug charges.

Raymond Wright and Nathaniel Edwards pleaded guilty on Thursday in the middle of a trial on an 11-count indictment. Both were arrested in August 2023 for selling controlled substances to police sources, the Montgomery County District Attorneys’ Office said.

The Amsterdam Police Department and Montgomery County Regional SWAT team searched an apartment on Jay Street and found a quantity of cocaine, Ecstasy pills and paraphernalia associated with trafficking narcotics.

They will be sentenced at a later date.
