Johnstown woman accused of assaulting person, crashing car

A Johnstown woman is accused of assaulting someone, then leaving the scene and crashing her car in Saratoga County earlier this month.

Police were called to a report of a domestic dispute on Briwood Circle in Queensbury on March 14.

The suspect, Leslie M. Stone, 35, is accused of hitting the victim and making threats with a knife before leaving the scene, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said on Friday, as they first released the information.

Investigators followed the car, but ended the chase when Stone left Lake Luzerne and went into Corinth.

Police received a report of a crash on Route 10 in Corinth a short time later. Stone failed to make a sharp turn near the intersection with West Mountain Road, according to police. She hit a boulder and tree before the car stopped.

Stone was taken to the hospital with head and neck injuries.

She was released from the hospital on March 22 and arrested on charges including criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.

She was arraigned in Warren County Centralized Arraignment Court and sent to Warren County Jail in lieu of bail of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
