Police: Amsterdam men stole construction equipment from home
Two Amsterdam men are accused of stealing construction equipment from a home.
Amsterdam Police were called to a home on Forbes Street around 8:30 Saturday morning.
Jared Hernandez, 46, and Tim W. Torres, 52, were carrying various construction items out of the home, investigators said.
An investigation determined the men had unlawfully started doing this the day before, without the owner’s permission, investigators said.
Police searched a residence on Division Street and found building materials and tools. They recovered around $2,000 of stolen property, police said.
Hernandez and Torres were each charged with felony counts of burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy. They were arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and sent to Montgomery County Jail.
