Vinton Elementary School in Lafayette, Indiana is opting for a four-day school week. The new policy will begin in August.
A option of a shorter week was made available after the state Board of Education approved a flexibility waiver in late March.
That means students at Vinton Elementary will start at 8 a.m. and leave at 3:45 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Not everyone is happy with the policy, and families will have the option to move to a different school if the four-day school week does not work for them.
