A 73-year-old Montgomery County man is accused of raping a man.

David H. Putnam allegedly had forcible sexual contact with a 19-year-old victim in July 2023, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said. Police were able to collect forensic evidence from his home in the town of Florida in February, which led to his arrest.

Putnam was charged with first-degree criminal sex act. He was arraigned on Tuesday in Florida Town Court and sent to Montgomery County Jail in lieu of bail of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

The Montgomery County District Attorneys’ Office and State Police assisted in the investigation.
