A homeless man is accused crashing a stolen car into a Saratoga County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle on purpose.
Investigators were called for a car stolen from the Route 146 Stewart’s near Northway Exit 10 in Clifton Park just after 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
The car was found on the Northway, investigators said.
Jacob R. Hayner, 37, refused to stop and struck the patrol vehicle, investigators said. The vehicle has more than $1,500 worth of damage, according to investigators.
Hayner is charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and unsafe lane change.
He was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail.
