Schenectady police detain person after standoff
Schenectady Police are investigating reports of a fight and shots fired on Crane Street. There is currently a standoff in that area.
Schenectady police detained one person after an hours-long standoff.
It started as an investigation into reports of a fight and shots fired.
Officers responded to the 900 block of Crane Street around 1 p.m yesterday.
A NewsChannel 13 crew in that area says they heard flash bangs, with a SWAT team trying to make entry.
Police were seen breaking down the scene just before 11 p.m.
There is no information yet on the person taken into custody. Police say they are being questioned.
The incident prompted a lockout at Washington Irving, Mont Pleasant, Pleasant Valley, Hamilton, Martin Luther King and the Steinmetz Career and Leadership Academy. Those lockouts were lifted.
