Boogie Lab USA, a food tech company and craft bakery, has chosen Amsterdam as the site for its first U.S. manufacturing facility, according to Mayor Mike Cinquanti.

This will bring a state-of-the-art production plant to the city, creating numerous jobs and economic opportunities, the mayor said.

Boogie Lab also plans to create a vibrant mixed-use development featuring a restaurant, retail space and brewpub.

The city is submitting a Restore NY grant for $2 million to help fund the $22 million cleanup and transformation of the former Sonoco Products plant on Forrest Avenue.

A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday at 5 p.m. to allow the public to learn more and get questions answered. It will be in the Common Council Chambers in City Hall.
