Safe spots for teens help them stay out of trouble
Two young girls, ages 14 and 11, continue to recover after a 1 a.m. shooting in Troy on Sunday.
The shooting has people wondering why kids were out at that hour, and if there’s anything that can be done to help keep them safe.
The problem is always top of mind for the Boys & Girls Clubs in Albany and Troy. About 100 kids each visit both locations every day. They offer safe and fun programs just for teens, such as music programs, creative outlets, teen nights and family nights. They also focus on conflict resolution for kids.
The people who run the programs hope it can be a solution to keep kids out of trouble.
