Two Berkshire County men accused of drug trafficking

Two Berkshire County man are facing drug trafficking charges.

George Stewart, 44, of Pittsfield, is accused of possessing 300 grams of cocaine and an illegal firearm. He also had an outstanding warrant, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office. Stewart was arraigned Friday on charges of trafficking in cocaine and five weapons charges. He is being held on $250,000 cash bail.

Michael Caropreso, 50, of Becket, allegedly possessed 56 grams of cocaine. He is being held on $150,000 cash bail.

Both suspects were arrested after investigations by the Pittsfield Police Department and Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force.
