The number of drunken drivers is dropping in Saratoga County, but the sheriff’s office says it is still making too many DWI arrests.

Saratoga ranks 12th out of 62 counties in New York state when it comes to drunken driving incidents, according to the Times Union.

There were 650 reported DWIs in Saratoga County in 2022, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice. That’s down from a peak of 948 in 2017. The sheriff’s office is continuing its Memorial Day Stop DWI campaign.
