Police: Watervliet man stole U-Haul truck

A Watervliet man is accused of stealing a U-Haul truck.

State Police troopers stopped the box truck on the Exit 6 off-ramp of the Northway on May 24 at around 10:45 a.m. for traffic violations. The truck had been reported stolen to the Cohoes Police Department the day before, State Police said.

The driver, John J. Ogden, 52, did not have a valid license, State Police said.

Ogden was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and traffic violations. He was released on an appearance ticket and is due in Colonie Town Court on June 5.

Two passengers in the vehicle were not charged.

The truck is being returned to its owner.
