Migrants moved from Rotterdam Super 8 will not be sent to New York City

An advocate for migrants says it’s time for Schenectady County to step up. There is an urgent housing crisis happening, she said.

A lot has happened this month, according to Maria Pacheco. Families were relocated from the Super 8 Motel in Rotterdam. They were moved to the Baymont Hotel in Latham.

This came after code concerns about a sprinkler system in the Super 8 Motel. New York City officials and DocGo said if a new area hotel wasn’t found, migrants would be moved from the Baymont back to New York City by Saturday.

Mayor Eric Adams said those migrants are not coming to New York City.
