Greene County man charged with DWI after crash

An Athens, Greene County man is accused of driving while intoxicated and crashing his vehicle on Saturday.
Eric Helmedach, 59, of Athens, was found after a crash in the northbound off-ramp of Exit 21 of the Northway in Lake George, just before 8:30 Saturday evening, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
A breath test revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.20%, which is more than twice the legal limit.
Helmedach was charged with DWI and released pending future court proceedings.
