Guilderland business celebrates 86 years

The Delmar Bootery is celebrating 86 continuous years in business.

The business was founded in 1938 by Jack and Jessie Leonardo and was at Delmar’s Four Corners.

It opened in Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland in 1988. That became the sole location in 2000.
The business has been woman-owned and operated since 1970, and it is currently run by the third generation of the Leonardo Family.

They were presented Tuesday with a certificate from the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry to commemorate the milestone.
